SAFCA - 4/16/26: 80M Federal Allocation Sparks Progress

The April 16, 2026 SAFCA board meeting opened with a quorum, approved consent items, and reported no closed-session updates. Executive Director Jason Campbell highlighted a surprise $80 million federal allocation for the Natomas Basin project, ongoing DC advocacy, and focused federal and state funding coordination. He reviewed bond-refunding plans to support project cash flow, updates on the Folsom Dam raise and gate modifications, erosion concerns along the American and Sacramento Rivers, and the Corps’ new rapid-planning requirement advancing the Yolo Bypass study to 35% design.
